Three Biological Domains

Students,

After our discussion about the three biological domains (Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya) please research and briefly discuss one member from of each of these domains. Your posts should include the following: the common and scientific name of the organism, a brief description of organism's size, way of producing energy i.e. photosynthesis, glycolysis, anaerobic respiration, etc., a citation from where you are getting the information ( no wikipedia!), and a hyperlink to a picture if possible.

After posting three separate posts, respond to one classmate's post with a further description of the organism. Please accompany your description with a citation.

  2. I researched a microscopic organism called Chlorobium limicola of the Bacteria domain. They are called Green Sulfur bacteria because they are found in hot sulfur springs. They use light energy to create their food.

  3. Richie,

Did you know that Green Sulfur bacteria contain bacteriochlorophyl? This is what gives them their green color.
